September 16th Art Journal Chat -- The First Time Ever

I'm dedicating this layout to my late cat Cissy. There were lots of firsts with her, and I've mentioned a few in the layout. She was the best cat in the whole world and I still can't believe that she is gone almost seven years. I have other cats now and I love them dearly, but none can compare to Cissy The Duchess Poo.

This is just beautiful, Carol. So heartfelt. Your love shines through and hasn't diminished in the slightest, and your choice or journaling shows that so well. Happy to have loved her and forever sad that she is gone. I am happy that you decided to add the faded photo.....nice touch!

Wonderful journaling, Carol. Reminds me of my little dachshund, Tina....she lived to be 17 and was a delight. So many memories, and we lost her 30 years ago! Love the rainbow and butterflies.

Oh this is lovely Carol. I'm so sorry I've been away all day and just seeing it now, but it's a super page. I really like how you used the song lyrics along with your heartfelt journaling and background and different embellishments are so pretty. I liked reading about your "First" and how special Cissy was to you and especially like the rainbow in the middle. Awesome art journal page! Thanks for coming to the chat and adding your artistic personal creation to ScrapGirls new Art Journal Gallery! :)

Wow, this layout is so beautiful, Carol. As a "cat-adorer," I really felt your words in your poems--so poignant. Love the story about reuniting and crossing the rainbow bridge together. Also love "You might wake up some morning...." just beautifully written. Love silhouette of that puddy-tat sitting on the bridge with all of your butterflies. Is Cissy the reason for your love of butterflies? Beautiful photo of her! Excellent job on this layout.

What do they say? 'Tis better to have loved and lost..."?. This is the most heart rending page I have seen in ages... I can FEEL your emotion bursting from the page... I have to tell you I had never read the Rainbow Bridge before and it brought a lump to my throat... I cannot imagine losing a child but the way your words and feelings are gives me an insight, I so hope I go first... This beautiful page is worth printing and displaying, it truly is wonderful.
