Thank you for sharing your memories of that tragic time. I hope it is the last time you are needed this way, too.

The layout is wonderful - you really have this art journal thing nailed. So many interesting pieces put together so well.

How wonderful for you to volunteer to help in this crisis. I was on the epicenter of a 6.1 earthquake in the Palm Springs area and know how disorienting quakes can be. My first instinct was to leave and get away as fast as I could and I am in awe of you for going towards the danger. Really thoughtfully put together and the cracked brick wall says it all. Really enjoyed your journaling.

OH, wow, Jane... This is amazing and your journaling is so written from the heart I felt like you were telling me your story right besides me. What an incredible experience that must have been and your words are so descriptive. Your background is phenomenal and so full of energy and feeling. I can sense the darkness and destruction and unsteadiness and your bravery through your fear. Your use of words and symbols is so incredibly descriptive, my goodness this is wonderful and I hope it helped you to express it. Awesome art journal page! Thanks for coming to the chat and adding your artistic personal creation to ScrapGirls new Art Journal Gallery! :)

I was so saddened by the damage that quake cause. We visited Christchurch some years ago and fell in love with that beautiful city. Love your page, and journaling is exquisite.

You did a fabulous job with this page! I love the elements you used and the darker colors. I admire your bravery, too! And I'm glad you were able to help. It must have been a very scary experience.

Wonderful journaling and you are wonderful! How generous of you to volunteer at such a frightening time. The LO speaks devastation clealy; dark and bleak. I do like that you added the grass for hope, or at least that's what I see. I'm glad you took time to scrap the experience. I'll bet it helped you to process it. Wonderful!

OK... how do I fit the umpteen things I want to say first!!??! Maybe with the map of NZ showing Christchurch and marked with the magnitude? Maybe the stencilled word "Earthquake" all shaken around? Perhaps the epicentre in the middle of your page spreading outwards?? The brick wall and glass all smashed and broken?? The colours?? I read the story witgh great interest but I couldn't get my eyes off all the detail you snuck in here... this is so detailed and intricate... a really amazing AJ page.

I got to study the detail, so satisfying for you that you stepped in and helped, thanks for the inspiration and now I will go look at the details closer.

I remember you telling us at the time that you went to help. I really admired you for that. I love the broken glass and brick wall that you used for the background. Also the alpha for the title. It just seems to make it more real when you put the exact time and date on the layout. Awesome page.
