Shades of Red - Challenge Combo

I started this layout as a response to Friday's scrap lift challenge, and picked Valerie's Tank Museum layout. I love the layered mats, the combination of squares and a circle, and the wonderful border of gears. And then I read Saturday's color challenge; my birthstone is the ruby, and I have several years photos of fall leaves, many of them red. Then I looked for a template for the three square photos, and thought that fits the challenge from October 10, and Valerie's layout has lots of white space - the Oct. 7 challenge - so here's my catch-up combo!

Google provided a web page with names and color swatches for a huge number of shades of red, and I played with fonts to more or less reflect the mood I associate with each color and/or it's name. Then I needed a companion page to use all the other photos of red leaves and trees. So Colors of Autumn was born. The four words I used came from a page by Melissa Renfro, called "thankful", that I downloaded and printed long ago, but I can't find it in her gallery. The inspiration for the arrangement of letters in "autumn" came from a page by Rachel Ludwig, published in scrapbooks etc. in 2005. All supplies for both pages are in the EXIF file. Thanks for the challenges!!

Another beautiful page. Your closeup photos of the leaves are quite stunning. The cluster of leaves behind the photos is wonderful and I love the stacked papers. Beautiful Autumn colors.
