I think a lot... but I don't know if that's a positive trait or a negative one. ;) Whichever it is, I enjoyed the chat and the challenge. Thanks!

One thing that can be said for art journaling: it's a great way to use your stash! Here I deliberately used invert filters to turn many of the papers and elements "inside out". I made other color changes as well just because they seemed to fit the mood of the art journal. Thanks for looking!

Oh Diane this is super and it seems to me that thinking a lot is both helpful and sometimes a problem. (speaking from my own experience, being a thinker myself!) So, it seems to me that you scrapped both prompts, YAY! Your layout is wonderful and I love the way you framed your trait in a window with hearts on the shutter - like looking right into YOU. :) I really love the background you made and blended and your grunge and brush work is lovely! I really like your background journaling and words and thanks for explaining how you used the filters. Your word art and symbols are awesome and your color so bright and vibrant. Marvelously creative layout all about Super YOU! Thanks for coming to the chat and adding your beautifully creative work of art to the Art Journal Gallery! :)

I love the window, like showing what is within "us" your layout is so gorgeous. I really love the colors and the dramatic color of the 'border' of black with the leaves. Fabulous!

I agree with Jane, this is awesome. I love all the greens, blues and touches of lavender. Love the heart with the wings. Makes me want to grab hold and fly away with it. The shutters and window are great. Looking out the window you realize that you need to look inside for what you seek. As Dorothy said at the end of the 'Wizard of Oz': "If I ever go looking for my heart's desire again, I won't look any further than my own backyard; because if it isn't there, I never really lost it to begin with."

Stunning layout and colors. I love the quote and word art. I never think to use filters, I must try to remember this invert one.

I just love your bright, happy colors! That reverse filter is so neat, isn't it? Wonderful quote (I like it in the window) and your pieces flow together so well. Wonderful page.

The "within" word art caught my eye straight away before travelling over the heart and the journaling and through those shutters... the words describe what I know of you Diane and I love the symbolism of looking through the shutters and inside you. The colours are glorious and I also love your stamping/brush work, is this your first, really?? Keep going with it, this is fab!

Oh so pretty. Great leaf background, not sure if you changed the colors on it but it looks awesome. Love the idea of displaying the leaves, what you would see if you looked outside the window, and placed the introspective quote inside the window. Wonderful composition and statement.

So cool! I like all the different patterns and brushes you used along the edge of the paper, framing the words blended into the background. Great quote and wonderful placement inside the window peeking out. The "inside" word art is fabulous, too!
