I don't know much about art journaling, but I enjoyed reading about all of these "Aha" moments. The thought of a bunch of confused molecules "milling about" made me laugh! I think it's important to note these memorable events in our lives, and this looks like a great format to do so. The school desk background is perfect here. Great layout!

LOVE this, Jo and as a former teacher I so enjoyed reading about your "aha" moments - they sure are treasures! You did a wonderful job with this page and of course - journaling is a big part of Art Journaling, it's half of its name! Everything you did here is as Karen said about YOU and your experience and as we said - "anything goes"! And, most importantly, it's all about you. Lovely blending and use of symbols and I giggled at imagining students acting out DNA. What a great teacher you were, no wonder you have so many interesting stories to tell. Thank you all for your gracious comments. I think I'm embracing art journaling, in its many variations. It is making it possible for me to scrap events in my life for which I have no photos, only memories - most happy. My "Album of Me" is growing thicker.

This is wonderful Jo. I love all your 'aha' moments. Love the drawing of what was under the microscope. Being a former lab tech, it's amazing what is beautiful under the scope and not so beautiful otherwise. Aha moments come to all of us at some time and we should embrace them, as your students and you did.

Amazing journaling! I love your stories! It sounds like you were a wonderful teacher. I taught about DNA structure and Newton's laws, too. I like the hands-on, physical ways you demonstrated them to your students. Fabulous! The story about the girl "getting it" when she looked through the microscope is great, too. The little elements fit your journaling perfectly! I like the background with the overlay of school desks. Fabulous page!
