For the beauty of the earth, left

In 2010 we planned our cross-country RV trip to get us to Crested Butte, Colorado, on time for the annual wildflower festival. We made it, but we hadn't made any reservations for specific activities, because we couldn't be sure ahead of time exactly when we'd get there. We were lucky to find a spot on two hikes led by Mel (Mary Ellen) Harte, Ph. D., who teaches at a California university - Stanford, I think. She was a fantastic guide, and we saw innumerable flowers. But we had not arrived during peak bloom time. If you want to see some of the beautiful scenery we missed, Google the wildflower festival, and browse. It's worth the trip, online or in person.

I thought these photos and lyrics fit the Monday challenge well. The lyrics are most often attributed to John Rutter, but he adapted them from an earlier version by Folliott S. Pierpoint (1864).

The only products I used were a blended layout template from Butterflies & Bluebells, Durin's Overcast paper, slightly recolored, and Sarah Batdorf's Basic Shadows., plus PSE strokes and brushes for erasing.

What a wonderful trip this must have been! Love your two page layout about it. The photos are beautiful. Love how you did the blending of the papers and photo. Also the blue paper at the top and green at the bottom. Very nice touch for the big photo.

Beautiful photos and great choice of song lyrics. I like the template and the font, too. You make the neatest two-pagers!

Your photos are breathtaking, Jo -- I can only imagine how stunning this must have been in person! Wonderful journaling and I really like how you did it in white - how pretty and creative, too. :)

These two pages are gorgeous. The photos of the wildflowers in the mountain setting is so beautiful and your use of the hymn fills the spirit with the joy of such marvelous creation. Beautifully done.
