Meeting Santa - Tannenbaum Collection

Meeting Santa - Tannenbaum Collection

This is a photo from 1958 of my Grandfather and his son, my Uncle. The story goes that my Mum and her sisters were not allowed to tell their brother that is was their Dad who played Santa each year for the local children. They kept their word and never told him, until he asked them when he was in his thirties. I think it is wonderful that they kept that secret for all those years.

Tannenbaum Collection, designed by Jennifer Ziegler

What a touching story and sweet photo, Valerie. I love the look on your uncle's face and only through the magic of Christmas does he not realize it's his Dad! Your layout is so pretty, I like what you did with the background and how you put the pieces together and your embellishment cluster "wows" me. :) I have sat here for a while looking at all the pieces you so beautifully put together. Great layout! :)
Such a cute picture and a great story to preserve! Love the embellishments
yes, i too think it is a wonderful story. I do like the way you nestled your picture in the embels and made it all look vintage.
Darling photo! I love your use of angles here -- in the BG papers and your photo and title. Gorgeous clustering and great use of white space. Love it! :)
Great photo and story. I LOVE the papers. Great collection.
What a neat photo and vintage papers. Great story, too.
A great photo. And what a great story. This paper collection looks amazing with this photo. I like how you have layered them. I also like how you framed the photo with the ribbon and old fashioned Santa.
That is a long time to keep a secret! Amazing that he never realized it was his own dad. The photo is priceless and is perfectly accented by the Christmas tree, Father Christmas, and other embellishments. Absolutely wonderful layout!
