George, John Jacob, and John Schwarz ca. 1905 - Maywood, New Jersey

Note: John Schwarz (little round hat) was my husband's maternal grandfather, George was his brother, and John Jacob their father. The couple behind the fence on the right is John Jacob's parents, George and Kathrine Schwarz.

Edited: We've no idea who the two people over on theleft are, and in looking closer tonight we have discovered a third person on the right just above little John. That must be Kathrine, and now we need to find out who the other woman is, possibly John Jacob's wife?

Isn't it fun to try to decipher old photos?! Frustrating, too. I was fortunate enough to have an aunt who labeled everything, but that's only one side of the family - the other side has lots of mystery relatives.

Your photo is relatively clear - good contrast. And I love the way you stacked it, and backed it with a letter, and warm embellishments. Happy detecting!

Gorgeous page. Wonderfully charming photo to start with and I love how you've used the stacked papers and elements. Not sure if the handwritten paper behind the photo is part of a collection or a real letter you've added. The handwriting is beautiful.

What a wonderful photo and the vintage edged to the frames is perfect. Pretty combination in the background to frame the photo.
