The Apple Pickers Mon 11/18

Colors are subdued - war and hard times would follow for my grandfather's favorite sister and her husband. It was amazing to see this picture of her being playful - I was a very young child and only knew of her as a very old lady.

Beautiful layout and what a lovely photo that is. Love the background paper and the basket filled with apples. I like the Around It Mini paper overlay you used and the pretty butterfly photo mask. Everything is just lovely.

What a wonderful photo of your great-aunt and great-uncle. Looks like they were having a good time, although that's a pretty scary-looking ladder. (Definitely not OSHA-compliant, LOL.) I love the subdued colors and the sentimental journaling. You've created a beautiful heritage page!

So sweet - the soft palette is perfect for your theme, and your photo is priceless. How wonderful that you have a photo of your grandmother from her early years.

Wow, Betty! What a special photo to have - it's a treasure and you scrapped it so beautifully! I enjoyed reading your notes about your aunt and liked looking through your page. Your background is perfect and the subtly colored masking behind the photo really adds to it and pops it even more. I really like your framing and pretty apple basket cluster. Super page about a very important time - I love what you did here! :)

Amazing photo and layout! I love the muted colors, the photo is fantastic, and the embellishments are perfect! It's hard to imagine our elders young and carefree, isn't it? Thanks for joining the challenge!

What a lovely photo, Betty - you are so fortunate to have such a treasured memory. It reminds me of my grandparents, who are reputed, by family tales, to have done much of their courting sitting on the branches of an apple tree. But we have no pictures; Papa was the family photographer, and he was up in the tree!

I love the soft colors you used to present the crisp picture, and the beautiful mat and border. Beautiful layout!
