Thursday Challenge 28 November

I wanted to get a photo of my four kids to use on Christmas cards and other bits. Unfortunately the photos I ended up with were not too good, the lighting and colours were all wrong, not to mention I didn't have a single shot of them all looking the same way.

So the photo won't be on the Christmas cards but it will be in this years album. Another imperfect but totally normal day in our house.

This layout is also for the HNC challenge to scrap what we are grateful for. I would be nothing without my kids.

Beautiful page and beautiful dedication. And without sounding trite, they would be nothing without you :-). Funnily enough despite the kids all looking different ways etc, you can see a remarkable similarity between the girls and between the boys. Love the connection between them all here, and who would think your feisty little one would be the one to be looking down the lens!? Beautiful use of simple colours to make a strong statement.

I was going to say this was a great way to use a photo that wasn't perfectly posed. The layout is gorgeous - I love the b&w with just the hint of turquoise. Great choice of papers, too. They make this look very elegant. And you do have a nice looking family.

Very pretty layout. I have to say my pictures of my children are not perfect, there is always some mess in the background, red eyes or mismatched colours. (That is why I like landscape or floral photography) But changing the photo to B&W rids of these distractions. Im just working on a layout of children, like you have.

However these memories are irreplaceable and wouldn't life be boring without these wonderful gifts, our children.

It's better that they look natural. It's really truly them, even if they don't all pose prettily at the same time. Meanwhile, keep snapping; you never know... :D

I love the photo and the elegant way you scrapped it. By the way, I'm sure you top the kids' lists of what they are grateful for, too.

I love photos that are truly of the moment and yours is great. I love the simplicity of your layout and the teal with black and white is wonderful. Looks like a great album coming up.

Oh, so funny Valerie and I know the frustration of wanting just ONE good photo where everyone is looking at the camera.. But, this one is so cute! I really like the way you used it in BW with the bits of color, it's a lovely page! :)
