The Christmas Wish
It took a long time for me to figure out what I wanted to journal for the December AJ challenge - Holidays. When I think of holiday layouts, I think of pictures - I have LOTS waiting for a page to call home. And art journaling doesn't usually include photos. { I know - there are no rules. : ) } As I was working on something else, listening to Christmas music on my iPod, this song came up - sung by Kermit the Frog. As I focused on the lyrics, and later looked them up, it seemed that although the theme is Christmas, it really applies to all the winter holidays, from Thanksgiving to New Years. For thousands of years, people have gathered to give thanks for harvests, for the day to lengthen in winter, to celebrate the closing of one year and the opening of a new year with new possibilities. To me, these words include all these holidays, for people of all faiths, and speak to the hope we all have for each new year as it dawns.
The lyrics were written by Lindy Robbins & Christopher Allen Holden; the recording is in A Christmas Together, performed by John Denver and the Muppets.
Supplies should appear in the EXIF file; I'll check, and add them if they don't.
