Winter Siggie 2014

I saw a piece recently about a series of collages created by Mary Delany in 1772, begun when she was 72. She created these awesome botanical prints by cutting out the individual petals and leaves and gluing them on a black background. The images were so accurate that they are still used by botanists. They were also so gorgeous that I wanted to try something similar (but decided against individual petals and used the lovely flowers and leaves created by our scrapgirls designers).

I used:

AWI Gaia Alpha

BHA Blossom Blossom Holiday flowers

BMU Autumn Jewel fern (I played with the transform tool a little to round them)

Created with GIMP

great idea to put it on a black background, it really makes your name and the embs pop. Lovely clustering of the flowers Aggie. This is very pretty.

Wow, Aggie; I'm truly impressed by your new siggie. It's gorgeous! Thanks for the info, too. I'm now going to look up works by Mary Delany. She sure had a lot more patience than I have.

This is beautiful! And what an interesting inspiration - you did an amazing job of making a botanical collage of your own! :)
