Everyday inspiration: Christmas cactus
This layout had a dual household inspiration: subject and method. The subject was inspired by favorite indoor garden gnome. A few of my garden gnomes come inside for the winter, and this one had taken up permanent residence by my scrapping chair. He faithfully tends my window tropicals, and reminds me that winter can't last forever. He and I were both ecstatic about the Christmas cactus last spring--I had to make a layout!
My other inspiration was method: I went through my scrap files and just started grabbing things that I thought would go together, much like sorting the sock drawer. Fun!
