Challenge 1/6/14. Temperate House

This is yet another of the bunches of photos I took when I went to the St Louis Botanical Gardens with the inlaws during their visit in may. The little photo is the picture before the impressionist action was applied. Besides the fonts and the action, this was made with all Scrapgirls items (even the template). I toyed with adding embellishments, but the picture was busy enough on it's own, so I left them off.

"The Temperate House is j ust one of several themed areas of the St Louis

Botanical Gardens. This photo depicts just a tiny section of the Temperate House which consists of 8,900 square feet and took two years to build. It is equipped with a computerized climate control system that keeps it between 40 and 90 degrees at all times. "

This is lovely, Heather and with your pretty photo and treatment you have created a beautiful piece of digital Impressionist art! I really like the background you chose and your blending is outstanding. Your journaling is so interesting and I like how it stands out in white. Great idea to frame and include your original pic, too. Thanks for joining the challenge and adding a gorgeous piece of Impressionist digital Art to the Monday Challenge Gallery. Lovely work and I'm glad to see you posting again! :)

Great choice of photos for your Impressionist look. It turned out beautifully! I like seeing the "before" photo for comparison and agree with you -- no need for extra embellishment here. Your gorgeous work says it all. Great job!

I've been here - those tiles are spectacular! Lovely painting you've made from it, too. I would have worried about using such a detailed photo, but it came out great.

Beautiful photo and you've turned it into a wonderful impressionist painting. Love the tiles in the photo and that wonderful 'bird bath' with the water tumbling over the edges and into the pool below. Just beautiful.

I recognized that fountain right away! I've been there many times :) The impressionist action almost turned the whole picture into a mosaic - looks great!

What a cool fountain and building! Sounds like an interesting place. I think the impressionist effect worked wonderfully with this photo, and you showed great restraint in leaving off the embellishments. I like that you included the original photo for comparison. Love the blending into the terra cotta background. Great page!
