Ice Floes

I took these photos at the Esopus Lighthouse Park in Ulster Park, New York on New Years Eve afternoon. My friend Rick and I went for a drive up north heading for the lighthouse. Of course, since the lighthouse is in the middle of the Hudson River, we had to stop at the park and take pictures from there. The water was frozen over and you could hear it crackle and pop as it started to melt, a very eerie sound. There were plenty of ice floes and I took lots of photos. These were the best of the group. There were also dogs running in the park having a great time while their parents looked on. These two actually stood still for a minute while I took their picture.

Wow, Carol this is amazing. I know you spoke of it but to see the ice really tells a story! Your photos are wonderful and I like how you arranged them around the page with different colored frames. I also really like the border you used and the snow and sparkles are so pretty, too. Super work and great job completing this week's Jumpstart January tasks! :)

This a great layout--it looks like you had a great winter adventure on your trip to the lighthouse. I love how you included some four-legged friends here. :)

Beautiful pictures, Carol and I really like the template you used. Always love your signature butterfly. He looks pretty cold though!

It's hard to imagine - how cold it must be when I'm sweating through an Australian summer but your pictures do give an amazing sense of thow low the temperatures must be. Good on you for venturing out to take them. That's one intrepid photographer!

Fabulous photos! I almost can hear the ice cracking and bumping as it does here in the Missouri River! I love your layout with photos along the page borders and inclusion of snowflakes. You did a great job capturing memories of a very cold day! Pretty page.

Carol, you've created such a wonderful page - no doubt about it - it's been cold up your way. The ice on the river is amazing. We went to Lake of the Ozarks this weekend and the ice sounded like cannons going off as the ice began to break up. Alas! I didn't get any pictures but your page reminds me of it. I wonder if G Washington's crossing the Delaware was on water like that?

wonderful photos, I love how you've given them all a different colour frame. Your choice of word art and embellishments are perfect.
