MariJ Posted January 14, 2014 Wow, Sherri this is amazing! Your photo and extraction is wonderful and I love how you place the Lady big and tall. Your background is super and how cool to have all those NYC references hanging across clotheslines, just like they might in parts of the city. Your blending is lovely and it looks like a colored pencil drawing. I really like the objects you used - postcard, camera, arrow and of course the Big Apple! Your framing is so pretty - super use of color too. You've creatived an awesome piece of Altered Digital Art! Thanks for joining the Monday Challenge. Quote Link to comment
Sara Arell Posted January 14, 2014 Absolutely fabulous, Sheri! I can't say it any better than Marilyn did - every little piece of your layout is just wonderful - I particularly love the artwork hanging on the clotheslines! Wonderful layout! Quote Link to comment

lorac Posted January 14, 2014 This is wonderful Sherri. Love your extraction of the Statue of Liberty and placing it on that very interesting background. Love the clothesline with the banners hanging from it. Brings back memories of when I used to hang my clothes on a clothesline in my first New York City Apartment. Love the references to Italy and the San Gennaro Feast. I used to go to that feast in New York. Great page. Quote Link to comment
jode2771 Posted January 14, 2014 Wow.... I can imagine the rows of washing hanging like this between the tall apartment buildings in the family heavy parts of NY, how creative to use an idea like this that is so evocative of a time and place and decorate with true NY symbols - things that all clearly mean New York to you... It is a very evocative page and I love the Statue of Liberty superimposed here - she is almost like an Italian Nonna overlooking the lines to see no trouble becomes them... Really inventive. (ps thanks to Carol for clearing up what the San Gennaro meant!) Quote Link to comment

Florida granny Posted January 14, 2014 I love this! I especially like your composition with the Statue of Liberty standing tall and the bits of NYC in the background. I also love how you included bits of ephemera and especially the real photo inside the camera. Wonderful page! Quote Link to comment
momwife and friend Posted January 14, 2014 Realized my file info did not download with my layout. Statue of Liberty 2013 STI_SSPaper_Admirer_2 copy DEB_Fascination_SolidPaperSM_3 copy BMU_Menagerie_Charm_Arrow copy RR_HarvestBlessings_Paper04 copy STI_ComfortHome_EmbBig_postcard copy SNU_AlteredLife_EmbMini-Camera copy SNU_SSEmb_Souv-Destination.psd BMU_SSTools_Styles_AgedMetals_RustyRose BMU_SSStyles_UltArtist_Texture-2 Frame and apple made from the shapes tool in PSE9 Background photo: Duplicated photo, saturated colours, First layer was changed with filter – colored pencil Second layer was changed with filter – Black & White Then merged layers together. Then created a clipping mask over the STI_SSPaper_Admirer_2 For the Statue of Liberty I duplicated the photo, added an adjustment layer and changed the levels. Then added the high pass filter and changed the blending mode to vivid light. Merged layers together and then extracted the Statue of Liberty from my photo. also thank you for all the lovely comments. Quote Link to comment
