Fantasy Houses

Every year the New York Botanical Garden has their Annual Train Show and every year I go. This year they added Whimsical Fantasy Houses, which were adorable and the TWA Flight Center at JFK Airport in New York. The bridges on display are: Brooklyn Bridge, George Washington Bridge, Manhattan Bridge and the Williamsburg Bridge, each with trains running across them. These photos are of some of the Whimsical Fantasy Houses that are on display.

Some background info on the show:

Garden-gauge trains zip along a quarter-mile of track past 140 beloved New York landmarks, including the original Yankee Stadium, St. Patrick’s Cathedral, and new this year, the Eero Saarinen-designed Trans World Airline Flight Center at John F. Kennedy Airport. Each iconic structure is masterfully crafted to scale from dried plant parts and arranged to create a dazzling miniature world inside the Enid A. Haupt Conservatory—a stunning Victorian-style glasshouse and a landmark itself.

Wander through the beautiful Conservatory under models of several of New York City's wonderful bridges. The bridges serve as a reminder that New York City is a city of islands. In fact, the borough that The New York Botanical Garden calls home, the Bronx, is the city's only borough located entirely on the North American mainland.

Carol, this is SO COOL and your photos are amazing! You always have the most interesting layouts and this one surely is! I love how you arranged them and I looked through each one carefully and with great delight! It was a hard choice, but I think the Zebra house and train is my favorite, then again the Snake house it neat too! Oh well, I do like them all. Thanks for the interesting information - great layout! :)

My vote goes to the giraffe house! Your layouts always tell great stories and this is no exception. Im really taken with the collection you've chosen for the layout and really like the terracotta coloured background with the curled tear. The typewriter alpha is wonderful.
