My mom worked as a dress maker and taught me how to sew.

Sewing holes in paper for hours til I got the hang of it. Then learning

how to guide the fabric. Step by step I learned the basics. She was always

encouraging. “You never know when you might need to know this” she

would say. I don’t know if I ever made anything more than a bag

as a child, but I do remember feeling proud when I mastered each step.

Sewing became, a fun pasttime for me as an adult, and I enjoyed making

dresses for my daughter and pyjamas for the kids. Thanks Mom for

sharing your talent.

What a lovely memory page you have created. I like all the different embellishments you have used to help tell the story.

I have chosen your page for Share the Love in the forum.

This is such a pretty layout. Your story is so nice. This seems as though the memory is special and how kind of your mom to share her talent with you. I love the background papers and the fabric swatches sewn to your background is perfect. Beautiful!

What a wonderful way to give your mom credit for teaching you how to sew--your LO is a great tribute. And good for you to make clothes for your daughter and pjs too. I enjoyed sewing and then quilting--learned that from my grandma and mom--I want to get back to quilting for my younger kids. your embellishments are such a perfect fit. Thanks for sharing this!
