englishrose Posted January 31, 2014 I love the journaling. What a hard life they must all have led - your great grandfather down the mines and his wife left to bring up children alone after his death. Love the masculine cluster youve created behind the journaling - especially the playing cards! Quote Link to comment

Smoky Posted February 1, 2014 Now, that is an interesting thought. How tragic that Eldon was killed in the coal mine. My husband's gr-grandfather was a German immigrant who was also killed in a coal mine in the 1920s. Terribly dangerous job, especially back then. Your journaling is wonderful, and so is that vintage man on the left. Wonderful heritage page! Quote Link to comment

Eden Posted February 2, 2014 Great story and fab photo. I love your embellishments peeking out from behind your journaling. Very apt for a man who had to be reminded when to leave the saloon! Quote Link to comment
