"Spring has sprung" isn't really a quote, but our tortoise woke up today so I wanted to do a spring page. Here in Southern California, things are already blooming.

The tortoise woke up? Does he hibernate? Gorgeous flowers and a fascinating way to know spring is here. I am really intrigued :-)

The tortoise has been hibernating since October. Since its the first year I have had him, I had no idea if he was OK (didn't want to disturb him) so it was a relief as well as a sure sign of spring!

Wow, what a cool sign of Spring, Kathy and I"m sure glad it's here someplace! Your photos are wonderful and so full of warm, Spring sunlight they give me hope. I really like your pretty green background and the fancy lace behind - this is a beautiful page! :)

Hi I thought I had responded to jode's question already but I don't see it here. Then GrannieEv also asked. Anyway, i LOVE reptiles (well, all animals). I used to have chameleons and bearded dragons (and snakes - when I sons were younger). I just felt bad about keeping them in captivity. A smaller (Russian) tortoise seemed like a good fit. This guy was found traveling down a road. He is probably male, adult and about 8" in diameter. So glad he is OK.(hibernation is something hard for me to believe - 4 months without water?)
