RIP Pirate

This is as far as I could get through my tears...Yesterday I had to put down my best friend of over 14 years and today I get a call from my ex-daughter-in-law that she had to put her dog down--she was 16. So now Pirate and Phoebe can cross the Rainbow Bridge together.

I am sorry for the loss of your special pet. I can only imagine how hard that must be. This is a sweet photo by which to remember your precious doggie. It is hard to watch a loved one decline, so at least Pirate is free from pain and discomfort now. It is the ones left behind that carry the hurt. Thank you for sharing this tough time with us through your layout. My heart goes out to you.

I'm so sorry for your loss, Debby. I know how hard that is. We had to put our Frankie down, too, and it still hurts. Our fur babies are such a big part of our families. Hugs to you. We put together a special box of Frankie's favorite things. Got one of those pretty designer boxes from Joanns. Put a little decorator pillow he "stole" from my daughter and claimed as his in it and his most favorite toys, his leash and collar, his tags, his footprint they did for us at the animal hospital, the sympathy cards we got in the mail and some photos. Our special box sits on top of our little curio cabinet in our living room and it looks really nice. It brought us some comfort to do this. Maybe you can do a box for your Pirate.

I am so sorry about your baby. I recently went through the same thing and I know it is very hard. One of the members here told me about critters.com, where you can make a memorial to your pet. It helped me a lot. I feel so bad for you...

Debby, so sorry for your loss. I created a memorial at critters.com and have been keeping it going since my Cissy passed back in 2006. She would have been 21 this past February. I know how it hurts to lose a much loved best friend. However, Pirate may be gone from the physical world, but he is over the bridge and free from pain. That is such an adorable photo of Pirate. I will send you a hi res copy of the layout that I did for you. If you want, I will add Pirate's name to the page and send it to you. Hugs and love to you.

What a sweet photo of little Pirate. I hope you are coping okay. It is such a hard thing to go through! We lost our 16 and 17 year old dogs 3 months apart in 2012. So hard. Time will help heal the pain. I can look at photos of mine now without crying, but I still miss them terribly. Wishing you well. Hugs!
