Just before Easter 1997 I sewed a new dress for Rebecca. I had enough fabric left over to make a matching dress for her favorite Cabbage Patch doll. Those outfits became instant hits and Rebecca wore that dress for many festive occasions. When she finally outgrew it, she reluctantly donated it to the theater, where it appeared on stage in a number of productions.

How beautiful. I remember the cabbage patch dolls. Thanks for joining the challenge.

This is wonderful!  As the mother of boys, I secretly missed the chance for making dolly-and-me outfits.  I have made a couple of sets over the years for friends and relatives, just because I think every little girl would love the chance to play dress up with her best playmate.  I am so glad that you got to do this for Rebecca--I'm sure she carries the memory in a special place in her heart.  Your page is a beautiful keepsake of the experience.  Well done!

Wow, that is a gorgeous dress you sewed, Kate and your daughter sure looks so happy wearing it.   Your page is so pretty and I really like your title and the soft colors you used.   Lovely work.   :)

What a great memory...I used to do that all the time...Dress for daughter, dress for dolls so your page is a memory for me too. Really cute page and I am sure they will treasure the memory forever.

So sweet! I like the edges you used on your photos. And I'm glad your daughter's dress got a second (and third and fourth) life! :)
