Pysanky, 2013

Left page of two, for the spring tradition challenge of April 15. Each egg is a pysanka; an earlier page I posted about this traditional art form can be found here. This ancient egg decorating technique has been practiced mostly by women, but last year we were able to coerce my grandson into participating. His first egg showed promise, but then he reverted to not-quite-teenage boy. Karin and Elizabeth each created an original egg in her own style, while Mari and I followed designs shown in the catalogs that come with the equipment. TFL!

Your pages are wonderful Jo and I so enjoyed your interesting journaling and beautiful photos. I love how everyone is so absorbed in creating their egg and wow, they are gorgeous! I really like the background you chose and the strips running across both layouts. Lovely work and great tradition. :)

Your photos show this process so well.... and the layout makes it so easy to focus on them ... great job. Had to laugh at your grandson reverting to male-ness! Wonderful tradition; I've always be in awe of this art form.
