Santa's Bath

A Territorial Christmas is an annual event in Guthrie, Oklahoma. During the 2004 Victorian Walk, we caught Santa taking a bath. This picture is a real person, but two different watercolor filters have been applied. The background is 2 papers, 3 layers. The night sceen with the pretty, snowy pines is on the top and bottom each with a different transparency applied so the daytime sceen of the cozy "Santaland" cottage shos through as if night is falling. The poem is mine:
On the Eve before Christmas.
A land slowly appears,
That cannot be seen
Until Christmas nears.
In the bath in his house,
Santa washes with care,
Trims his beard,
Shines his boots,
Then combs his white hair.
Dons his suit of red velvet,
And makes for the door
Where Frosty is waiting
This blessed Christmas morn.
