Last wooden whaling ship

This weekend was a huge river event with the Charles W. Morgan taking it's 38th voyage. It is the last wooden whaling ship in the world and has been at Mystic Seaport since 1941. Thousands of people turned out to see her being towed down river to New London so they can finish prepping her for the summer adventure. Our marina is just down river so we took our dinghy to watch from the water....it was amazing. Cannon, horns and cheers from the crowds....just a lot of emotions.

I love the tattered old frames you gave your wonderful photos. Love the skull and cross-bones, too. :) A great companion page to your other one.

What a great experience to see the Charles W. Morgan moving through the water!
