Another vacation photo! I used the freebie paper as an overlay on the ruffle and on the burlap mat and the card was used as a second mat. I enjoyed Angie's blog and decided to use the freebie flower as part of the Thursday cluster challenge. The history room at the Bright Angel Lodge is located in Grand Canyon Village on the south rim of the canyon.

Journaling reads: The Bright Angel History Room celebrates, among others, Fred Harvey who improved the food and service on the Santa Fe Railroad. He hired thousands of “Harvey Girls,” single women, ages18 to 35 of good character, who signed on as waitresses for a period of 6 to 12 months. .

This Harvey Girl uniform and other artifacts were on display at the Bright Angel History Room. The sign reads: “In their black skirts, high collars, and starched white aprons, Harvey waitresses were a familiar image of service and cleanliness”.

In 1946 a movie The Harvey Girls starred, among others, Judy Garland who sang “"On the Atchison, Topeka and the Santa Fe," which won the Academy Award for best original song that year.

Lovely page, Diane! I've been there, but never thought to get photos of the displays. Your use of the freebie is very creative, and I love the background, cluster and title alpha (or font) - it's so suitable for the time period.

Goodness, everything from your font selection to the fabric behind the photo is perfectly suited to go with the theme. And such an interesting story behind the Harvey Girls which will certainly add interest to your finished album of this past trip.

Such interesting journaling and I know of the movie, but who knew about all the rest, how cool! I really like your photos and your use of the freebies are wonderful. I really like your font and the way you used the paper - you created a lovely page, Diane. Thanks for joining the Friday Challenge. :)
