Layout for the newsletter on the theme of 'feelings of summer'. TFL!

Description from the newsletter:

Say to me ‘perfect summer’ and I picture an idyllic tropical beach with crystal blue sky and sea, and white sand. Now unfortunately we don’t have many of those here in the UK, but I do have plenty of beach photos that are grey and dull! So to create my ‘perfect summer’ layout I had to be a bit creative with my grey photo. I applied 2 adjustment layers to my photo (Brightness/Contrast and Curves). Using them both together completely washed my photo out, but by creating a layer mask on the Curves layer that ‘erased’ my son, then duplicating and inverting (CTRL + I) that mask on the Brightness/Contrast layer (to erase everything BUT my son) I achieved a ‘whiter’ look to my background but kept the vibrancy of my son. Add a couple of sunbursts and I have the ‘perfect summer’ beach photo!

This is a beautifully scrapped page, well-designed with a lovely blending of photo and papers together with gorgeous clusters. I loved it when I saw it in the newsletter. I really appreciate knowing the steps you took to turn your grayish photo into a bright, fun, summer layout.

We are having record cold here at present (it snowed not far from Jo and I both today (we live in different states) and it NEVER does that) so this challenge has really brightened my day :-)

Your beautiful page of Jamie enjoying himself at the beach is so artistic and stylish... I love the softness of it all and the beautiful blending.... Very inspiring.

This caught my eye right away. The blended photo in the bottom right of the page and the framed photo. The way you clustered the embellishments with the title is exceptional!

Beautiful! Love everything about this page. Your cluster is gorgeous and I love how you framed your son's photo in the wood frame. The background blender is just gorgeous and looks so good on the white washed board underneath. You sure spent a lot of time on this, but it was time well spent. Beautiful!
