Mon 8-25 Alpha challenge

...more vacation photos!

The papers and embellishments here are from Brandy Murry's Travel Journal collection. Although I love both of the alphas she's included in that collection, I decided to go with the alpha from Merrydale for this page, just because of its wonderful texture. (Plus I enjoy using different collections, lol.) Thanks for a fun challenge!

Journaling reads: We had dinner in the restaurant of the celebrated historic El Tovar Hotel located directly on the rim of the Grand Canyon. The hotel, designed to be a cross between a Swiss chalet and a Norwegian Villa (huh?) was built from local limestone and Oregon pine and opened in 1905. Many considered it the most elegant hotel west of the Mississippi River. In 1987 the Hotel was designated a National Historic Landmark. Its guests have include such famous folk as Presidents Theodore Roosevelt and Bill Clinton, Albert Einstein and Sir Paul McCartney. We were told that the restaurant is famous for its desserts so we tried two of them: the fruit and custard tart and the chocolate taco. Both were absolutely yummy.

Great great great job on this one - I love it - especially the word behind the journaling - that font by Brandy rocks! I need to use it more.

Yum, sounds delicious and your journaling and this restaurant sound so interesting. Your photos are wonderful and I like the cup border and the way you colored the alpha. I also really like how you put your background together, it looks great! :)

What a great page to preserve this memory - for all the reasons already mentioned. The photos are wonderful. And I remember the desserts at El Tovar; they're worth the trip!

What a lovely page for this collection of photos! I especially like the "Food" touches: coffee cup border, Food word art, flare with silverware. Your cluster is lovely. I like the way you wove the ribbon into the title as well.
