Artistic Freedom

This layout is about how much I enjoyed drawing and the fact that I gave it up for over 40 years due to not feeling like I should carve out the time for it when there are so many other things needing my attention. Recently my granddaughter asked me to show her a few things and I sketched her puppet. She went home and told her mom that she never saw anyone draw something that actually looked just like the thing they were trying to draw. It gives me confidence that it might not be too late to try again.

Oh, Katie your page is wonderful and full of feellng and YOU. Your background is amazing and there is so much to see and so many symbols, drawings and colors blended so beautifully into a gorgeous, gorgeous whole. You really conveyed longing and energy on your page and I like the way you journaled but hid some of it, too. I can feel your conflict and longing and am so impressed with how you and depicted created this! Was is you that said last night you had a hard time? Well, I'd say you nailed it and I'll bet this was fun in the end. I hope you're delighted with yourself and your creation, wow - I am! Awesome layout and thanks for sharing this piece of you with all of us and in the Art Journaling Gallery! :)

PS and great job with the brushes too! Just lovely!

Katie - what a fabulous job! Your first one too - I am immersed. I particularly love the little sketches and the texture you have - simply great! I am so happy your granddaughter brought your drawing back to life for you. Don't stop - you did an awesome page.

This is such a beautiful page. I love the little girl and how you blended her into the background. You used such wonderfully bold colors on this. It's never too late for anything in life. So get with your creative side and 'create'.

Very striking page! I really like the bright blend of colors as well as all the sketches in the background. You added your journaling in a very creative way, too. It truly does look like you should pursue art! Lovely!

Love this! Especially your journaling. I also have put aside my painting for 30 to 40 years. Just gave up with no encouragement. Maybe I'll join you in working on it again.

Thanks! very creative. :)
