Family Faces
I started this page several years ago, and stalled, then remembered it for the heritage crop. All of the photos have been altered in some way. The large pictures and my face, cropped from a larger image, were all black & white; Mari's picture was a school photo in color. And the two girls in a floral frame - which is 1.5 inches in diameter - was almost orange. It was edited as part of an online SG class on restoring photos. I'll post the steps used in the thread for this chat.
I'm guessing at the identification of these girls. My sisters and I found the photo when we cleared my mother's house for sale; none of us had ever seen it. I know that my grandmother, Helen, had a sister Margaret about three years older. Comparing photos led me to the conclusion that the younger child is Helen, and the older probably Margaret. Helen was born in 1893, and looks about seven here; the close are appropriate for the late 1800s. My five-year old photo looks quite a bit like Helen at seven, and I have a newspaper clipping in which the resemblance is stronger. And although this picture doesn't quite show it, I often saw Mari look a lot like Margaret. My sister and I often saw expressions on Heather's toddler face that were the image of our mother at two years old. DNA will tell!
Thanks for prompting me to finish this page, April. I know that I added the DNA image to Thao's paper, but don't remember its origin. All other supplies are in the EXIF file.
