While walking the streets of Japan, I kept noticing the decorative manhole covers, and took pictures of all the different ones I saw. So pretty!

Funny! I lived in Japan for 3 years... so many things cracked me up. I liked the lavender and mint green large construction equipment. =) Pretty layout, and perfect subject for tin and rust theme!

Cute! How creative to use decorative sewer covers! I like the way you showcased them in the "grid" of squares and that you labeled them by city. The background is perfect!

Wonderful page, Tiza. Love your photos of the manhole covers. They are fabulous and so decorative and colorful. Love the background paper and the chevrons that look like tire marks. Fabulous!

Oh how interesting. I am going to Japan next year so I will certainly keep my eyes open for these works of art. Great that you shared this with us .

oh what cool photos and page, I loved seeing Japanese manhole covers! Now do you know why manhole covers are round?

That was a research question in a college class I took and I was the one that found the answer ----

"Because any other shape they'd fall in"
