Diamonds are a Girl's Best Friend - Bestie Kim

This is a great challenge and really got me to thinking. My life is so scattered right now, I don't know that I have a local best friend. But, my long-time best friend from high school is still near & dear to my heart, even though she lives eleven hours away (by car, anyway). She's only a phone call away, and we keep up on Facebook now, too.

Here's my journaling:

"We met in freshman year of high school and bonded rather quickly. My family moved away after graduation, but we visited each other during college. We were in each other’s weddings, and every year we’d chat once or twice at least. In 2006, though, my life got rather wonky, and though I thought of her often, we fell out of touch. This year I found her on Facebook on her birthday, and we then spent two hours on the hone. I went to visit her this summer, and I’ll do that again in the new year.

"Kim is a sweet, kind, loving person - and her five kids are a testament to that. She’s also smart and witty and has great taste in friends. I’m blessed to call her my soul sister!"

I love your page and your story..reminds me of my best friend from high school. We might not stay in touch as often as we would like, but we always just pick right back up. I hope you send this to her!

What a great best friend to have! I like how you used two forms of journaling - the numbered list and the paragraph - to tell the story of your friend.

Great sketch and I like your numbered items with the matching icons. Such a neat layout and how wonderful that you reconnected.
