Val Kill Autumn Colors -- Monday 11-10-14 Challenge
This is one of my first purchases from Scrap Girls when I first joined in November 2007. It was the Naturescape Easy Page Pro. Since I didn't know how to digital scrap, I thought that this would be the best way to start out. Don't know if I ever used it or not. Then I purchased the Naturescape Collection. The photos were taken when my friend Rick and I went to Hyde Park and visited Eleanor Roosevelt's Val-Kill house and grounds. It's a beautiful place to visit, especially in the Autumn. The photos were taken looking from The Pond Bridge towards the Pond and the beautiful Autumn trees. In 1934 this new bridge was erected which had planks and a low log railing. The structure became known as Mrs. Roosevelt's doorbell, as the wooden planks made a clattering sound when cars passed over it. Called Val-Kill Brook or Lake Eleanor by FDR, the pond covers 7 acres and has an average depth of 4 feet.
