I spotted this lone little maple blazing in the small wooded lot I pass almost daily. Last week, I stopped on my way home to capture it, and decided to use it for this week's challenges. Supplies are in EXIF

Mini Challenge 1: Pick ONE of 3 techniques to convert photo to art masterpiece; technique 3, selectively, experimentally. There’s an artistic filter in there some place. Added copy of red tree on top, with color burn blend, to emphasize.

Mini Challenge 2: Used brush to gradually reduce opacity of photo edges, OVER copy of black & white image from step 1, and softened its edges too.

Mini Challenge 3: Added grunge overlay to background & used grunge brush on “RED”

Mini Challenge 4: Found quote that conveyed my reason for stopping to take this photo. Added date and location beside photo.

Thanks for the challenges - especially the prompt (prod?) to use some artistic techniques.

Jo this is gorgeous - I love how you've used the photo techniques to make your red maple the star of the layout. And the amount of grunge you've used is just perfect for this layout. Thank you for taking part in our challenges this week - I hope you've enjoyed it!

What a beautiful site to see each day, Jo and you scrapped it so gorgeously. Your photo and treatment is lovely and you created a real work of art. Great job on completing all four tasks with this awesome layout. I love your quote, too.

Oh you have a good eye! I love your lone little tree and how this photo treatment makes it the star of your page... the grunge overlay is just right and I love your quote and photo notes... your journalling tells others why you took this photo :-) Wonderful work Jo!
