journaling:

We were still in a bit of a state of limbo,

but all we needed now was for the title

agent in Miami to get the funds and info

transferred to our local agent. While we

were waiting, we slept in for a couple of

days and then I went window shopping for

household things. A vacuum, dishes, all the

things we left behind in Miami. We just needed a few kitchen things to tide us over till the POD arrives,

but they were essential. Finally on Tuesday we were able to

close the purchase and take possession of the keys! Do we

look exhausted in our selfie? Just a bit. We went back to the

hotel for the night and then checked out the next morning.

That afternoon we picked up Dusty and he had a blast

exploring his new house, even though the only furniture

we had was two lawn chairs and two air mattresses. The next

morning Rooms to Go delivered all of our new furniture. Dusty

gave his approval of our bed, and claimed the love seat for

himself. My little rhino on the mantle was a good luck gift from

a friend back in Miami, B.B. Gould.

On Saturday, we went down to Smyrna’s annual Depot Days

event. The old main street was closed off and there were a ton

of vendors, and organizations with information booths. We even

ran into Dusty’s new buddy from Creature Comforts Kennels -

Ms. Stacy. They were so good to him!
