Thursday Challenge 1/15/14 "Marsala Grounded"

A few years ago, I joined my sister and a friend on a trip to Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks. Even though forewarned it was "god's country" I was awestruck at the majestic beauty I found there. Talk about the energy of nature - wow, it was so pure and strong, most particularly in the mountains. And, for sure it was grounding. The larger photo was taken as we hiked through the Tetons on a small narrow path, walking next to walls of rock. Right before I took this photo I put my hand against its surface and almost shivered feeling the energy and strength it held… I felt so very small and yet an integral part of the universe -- all at the very same time!

And, that mountain rock coincidentally even had a splash of marsala in it, how cool! (PS - I actually didn't even notice that until I was finished.)

Journaling reads:

"Climb the mountains and get their good tidings. Nature's peace will flow into you as sunshine flows into trees. The winds will blow their own freshness into you, and the storms their energy, while cares will drop away from you like the leaves of Autumn. John Muir"

For this layout I used:

SNU SS DLO Templates: Fade In

PWR Ancestry Collection

and my own photos

I LOVE your repeated framing and how you displayed that image... and the wonderful texture and warmth of the background rock... such a wonderfully earthy page, I just want to touch it! The quote is so perfect with the photos. And good work inadvertently adding some marsala!!!

What awe-inspiring scenery! That must have been a wonderful trip; thank you for sharing some of the views.

I love your framing and way you've displayed both close up and distant photos. I also love seeing the Marsala color as it appears in nature, too. Great quote by that champion of the outdoors, John Muir. This is a beautiful page!

Just awesome, Marilyn!!!! Love your beautiful photos! I grew up in the Rockies so I will agree with everything you said. I call it God's country. Your word "majestic" because sums it up. Love the blending mask you used (oh, it jumped into my cart)! Your layout is beautiful -- it's a winner in my opinion!!

Gorgeous page! I really like the way you balanced the closeup of the rock with the stunning view of the valley. Fabulous used of the template, too! I love the way each picture fades into the next and shows more and more of the photo.
