Jan Art Journal challenge

I used these lyrics: And the sun shines down all on the ground Yeah, and the grass is oh, so green And my heart is still and I've got the will And I don't really feel so mean Here it comes, here it comes. I repeated them 3 times as part of my design at the top of the page.

I thought this prompt would be a lot more difficult than it proved to be. I got inspired by the lyrics, especially the part about having the will to look for the sun. Those of you who know me know how strongly I believe that our creativity and creative activities help add light to the world.

Thanks to Marilyn and to Jody for another fun chat and for giving me the kick I needed to do another art journal page!

And, I'm so glad you did, Diane! Beautiful page and I love your gorgeously soft and blended background which really makes me feel the warmth and happiness that goes with lighting the world. I also really like how you repeated your lyrics and placed them horizontally and coming from your embellishments which make a really lovely design. Your quote is wonderful and I love how your ribbon gives such a light and airy feel to your page. Awesome work and thanks for adding your creation to the Art Journaling Gallery. :)

Diane this is stunning...there is so much to look at. I love the colors and your font is really pretty. The embellishments are very feminine and delicate which I really like. It was nice to see you at the chat this morning.

Beautiful. Love the use of Mona and all the other ladies. This fits the lyrics so well - it just pulls the meanness right out and makes way for gorgeous light. Lovely ribbon and lower border cluster. Just amazing everywhere you look.

I love the repeated use of flowers to illustrate the beauty and the art to illustrate the beauty in creativity, the warm colours and the way the lyrics seem to effortlessly fit, this is a lovely depiction of your light and creativity statement! Thanks for taking our challenge!

Diane this put a big smile on my face too. Mona looks much happier with her pretty hat. I think creativity is a basic human need and I love how you visually depicted its lighting the world.

The Mona Lisa is such a great addition and I agree that she looks happier on your page than in that painting! I like your use of the "L" alphas in your quote and the pretty stamps and butterflies. Such a beautiful page.

Diane, I'm so glad you told us where the lyrics are, I was looking and squinting! This is just great, I love it and the colors you chose are just perfect for a bright, new day...

There are so many interesting things to look at on this layout. I particularly like the large alphas you used, they go so well with your background paper.
