I'm normally not one for journaling and usually avoid more than a title so this was a challenge for me, too! For my first try, I had only FIVE sentences to tell my story but then I started to think and embellish my words and ended up with… a story!

Journaling reads:

"Allison wanted to make a large amount of rainbow cupcakes for a school event and asked me to help her. We followed directions she'd found online. First, we mixed the cake batter according to the package and divided it into six different containers, adding food color to to make them the colors of the rainbow. We found we had to use a LOT of it to get bright vivid colors - I think we used three packages until we were satisfied!

We tried using a spoon to fill the pans but it didn't work well so we changed to a cake decorating bag. We swirled the batter into each liner starting with purple on the bottom and working up to red at the top. That worked great and once we got the hang of it, went quickly. I had my doubts, but Alli had a vision.

And, she made it work! When the first batch cooled, we cut one and it looked like a rainbow! After a short rest/homework break we iced the cupcakes in puffy white frosting swirls with rainbow sprinkles on top. We actually made one hundred and eight and they were so pretty! I heard they were a big success too, but the best part was spending the day with Alli. :) 10/13/14"

That was an ambitious undertaking, Marilyn. Your page describes and illustrates the process very well. Love the title treatment, too.
