No Foolin' Journal reads:
on April first we heard the
first peepers of the season. They are a tiny frog that
lives in the marshy areas of northern Michigan, and
like the Red-winged blackbird, they are a harbinger
of spring. The song starts out softly at the beginning
of the season but by summer time you can step out on
the deck and their song can be almost deafening.
The Northern Spring Peeper
(Pseudacris crucifer) is about
the size of a large paperclip
and have a distinctive dark
brown X that marks their tan
backs. Although we heard
them Wednesday evening, we
did not se them. These photos
I gleaned from the Michigan
DNR website.
Good Friday Journal reads:
It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom,
it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of
incredulity, it was the season of Light,
it was the season of Darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair...
The pastor started off Good Friday’s message with the paradox from
“The Tale of Two Cities”, which seems
to aptly fit Good Friday ... but, hang
on, Sunday’s coming!!
Saturday's journal reads:
found me very busy in my kitchen
as I prepared a special meal to
take over to Grand Rapids the next
day to celebrate our oldest son’s birthday.
