All About Me Friends Left And Right

This LO was difficult--photos lost life when B/W but seems busy with the color. gotta let it go. . . but it was fun to look back thru these photos.

Journalling:

Growing up in a large family, my first friends were my cousins and my sisters. We always had someone to play with (and argue with, of course). When I was 4 years old, I met Deanna—we were quite close for many years until she moved away. My best friend and next door neighbor was Jerry Kless—she and I were joined at the hips. We did everything together. I loved sleepovers at her house—her parents allowed us to watch Creature Feature and gave us Jiffy Pop popcorn and soda. My heart broke when they moved across town and then to Germany. Next came my buddy, Heath. He came to my mom’s daycare at 2 months old. I still remember holding him and thinking he was the coolest thing ever! We were brother and sister for several years. When his dad moved them to New Mexico, our families stayed in touch and would visit often. My senior trip took my sister and I to his house—a trip that we thoroughly enjoyed. I last saw him in 1994—my heart was broken (reckless life choices) but I still love him to this day. One year, my mom made us matching western shirts and had our photos taken one summer. Other friendships that I enjoyed came from Girl Scouts, school, church, and wandering the neighborhood as we did freely in those days. Every photo I’ve chosen here are special to me in that we are sisters and best friends. They were hard times, but that’s what made us close—we had each other. Mom made all of our clothes (except in two photos), and I’m sure Melanie is doing the eye-roll right now thinking back on that fact!
