A Christmas Tradition
When I was little, every year at Christmas time we would visit both sets of grandparents. My dad’s parents lived on the farm where they raised their six boys. Grandma always wore a housedress and Grandpa always wore overalls. They would have a tall, skinny Christmas tree that just fit into the corner of their small living room.
You can tell from our faces that we all enjoyed getting together. Even my stoic grandpa is looking at my little sister with the tiny whisper of a smile. From left to right: Liz (2), Mabel, Nancy (6), Oscar, Sue (5)
