April Showers -- April 2016 ATC

I've been singing this song all week and thinking of the young man who sang the song in one of the Downton Abby episodes. I loved the way he sang it. Now I get a chance to do a layout for it. Other singers of the song over the years were: Al Jolson, Frank Sinatra, Ruth Etting, Judy Garland and others.

Here are the 'full' lyrics to April Showers written by B.G. DeSylva and music written by Louis Silvers. First published in 1921

Life is not a highway strewn with flowers,

Still it holds a goodly share of bliss,

When the sun gives way to April showers,

Here is the point you should never miss.

Though April showers may come your way,

They bring the flowers that bloom in May.

So if it's raining, have no regrets,

Because it isn't raining rain, you know, (It's raining violets,)

And where you see clouds upon the hills,

You soon will see crowds of daffodils,

So keep on looking for a blue bird, And list'ning for his song,

Whenever April showers come along.

And where you see clouds upon the hills,

You soon will see crowds of daffodils,

So keep on looking for a blue bird, And list'ning for his song,

Whenever April showers come along.

Of course we couldn't have an April theme without April showers! Great ATC, Carol. I love the puddles and especially the rainbow you added. Thanks for the lyrics, too. I don't think I've ever seen the whole song written out. It's words are definitely worth remembering!

This is well done Carol! Really like that background and the way you have got the butterfly under the umbrella :-)
