Going Out Of the Door

I used the idea of a white door from the fairy door found here. You can actually see the open door behind John; the vertical line is the edge. He thought I was silly to take pictures, but he paused right in the doorway with that huge armload of stuff to pose for his mother.

Materials:

Jennifer Ziegler: Caramel Apple Collection

Ginny Whitcomb: Soups On Embellishments

Brandy Murry: Back Porch Collection Biggie (retired)

Fonts: Bookman Old Style, Arial

Journaling: John paused in the doorway with his arms full of stuff just before he headed off to his first apartment. (Jan 2009)

Song by Harry Belafonte, Malvina Reynolds and Alan Greene (altered from young girl to young man)

Where are you going

My little one, little one?

Where are you going

My baby, my own?

Turn around and you're two

Turn around and you're four

Turn around and you're a young man

Going out of the door

Time sure does fly, doesn't it? Nice clusters and I really like how you framed your title with the scrolls to echo the decoration in the door frame.

What a touching page, Sue and I love what you did here! Your photo is priceless - so cool you were able to get that shot when John crossed over into independence and I love how the open door shows behind it. Your journaling is so special and I am humming the song. Really special layout.
