Here is my layout for the January contest "Your favorite part of the Christmas Holiday"
Journaling:
At first glance, it may look like this layout is about gifts; a brag page about all the great presents I got for Christmas. It isn’t. This page is about something more. It’s about what these gifts represent. It’s about thoughtfulness. This page is about someone breaking out of their usual habits in order to try to do something nice for someone else, just to show how much they care.
Scott doesn’t always show how thoughtful he can be, and he definitely isn’t the type to save money. So when I found out that he had been secretly putting money away for months, just so that he could try to give me a nice Christmas, I was stunned. He gave me a ton of gifts, all of which I loved, and was so proud of the fact that he thought of every one of them himself. I still can’t believe how sweet it was for him to surprise me that way, and how wonderful it was to see such a thoughtful side of him. As much as I loved all the presents, the best gift I received was the chance to see what a generous and loving person he can be.
Supplies:
Papers and embellishments from Melissa Renfro’s Spiced Cider collection (and alpha),
and Erica Hite’s Bookworm collection; Lace from Cheryl Barber’s Charming collection
