Vera and Holson

Vera and Holson Wood - my grandfather and the oldest of his full sisters - were part of a VERY large family. There were only 21 children spanning the years 1871-1920 -effectively 3 generations. Their oldest four half siblings were older than their mother. This picture was found in my cousin's effect when he died. It's how his sister found me while researching and what joy she is to know! The original is in very sad shape, as oyu can see from the copy. But it gave me the chance to pay with restoration and with filters and blending. What fun!

Journaling reads:

Aunt Vera and Grandpa surely didn’t look very thrilled in this picture, I guess if I was a little boy with all those curls and dressed in a funky Little Lord Fauntleroy suit, I might not be to happy either. Aunt Vera, though, seems to be the height of fashion with her little cloche and sweet dress. I only knew her when she was already in her fifties and gray. I think she must have been quite pretty, though. Grandpa wasn’t pretty, but he WAS debonair when he was younger.

Oh my goodness you have done great at restoring this and making this awesome layout for this photo. Quite a story behind it all. TFS
