My biggest “harvest” yet from my two blackberry bushes! Six big, fat berries! My friend Carol Scott (a church organist I know from Facebook) sent me a book she no longer needs. Dusty had to thoroughly investigate. You know, it could have been edible!
I love internet humor and these three were spot on! You see by the arrow, that was just one of the fireworks our neighbors set off - over our house. Dusty was less than thrilled, and doped up on Benadryl.
Our grandson Zander had fun with his sparklers, but his cousin in Miami ended up in Urgent Care for a virus and a rash. He’s fine, but what a way to spend the Fourth. Poor kiddo, his dad had asthma when he was little and it always flared up on a major holiday. I feel their pain.
This is the third time our flags have been flying at half-staff in the last month. First it was our Blue Angel pilot, then the shootings in Orlando, and now 5 police officers in Dallas, Texas have been ambushed and killed by a sniper. When is it going to end? The world has gone crazy.
Saturday afternoon we took Mom to Barnes and Noble for some new books. She saw me practically drooling (so undignified!) over Lin-Manuel Miranda’s “Hamilton” book and she bought it for me! It’s a treasure!
Saturday morning we had to rearrange the furniture on the deck. We had a wind and rain storm pop up out of nowhere the night before and everything ended up in one corner. It even popped open the lid on the little deck storage box where we keep the fire pit supplies.
