Lilac Breasted Roller

Until our safari I had seen this bird only in the zoo's aviary, and I really wanted to see one in its natural habitat. I was ecstatic when we spotted the first roller, and Dave got a wonderful photo of it. And then I saw the second bird flying, and caught it, too. Its wings and tail are electric blue on the underside - they glisten! Supplies are in EXIF, and I scrap lifted the general page design from Laura Louie's sample layout for her new collection - bought it just for this pair of pictures! Thanks, Laura!

Absolutely gorgeous, Jo. I can't believe that that little bird has such a large wingspan. He's so colorful and cute. I've seen them at the Zoo too.
