Compared to last week, this week was quiet and mostly uneventful. The closest thing to disaster came when I discovered that my family domain name had expired. In JUNE. No wonder I haven’t been able
to upload anything. Duh! I called tech support and it took a couple of days, but I ended up buying back the domain name and they helped me get it routed to the proper place on their server. Before all that
happened I panicked and managed to use an FTP program to get in and copy ALLLL of my old files to my hard drive. These files go back to around 2000. Turns out I didn’t need to, they were all still there, but I’d much rather be safe than sorry.
We had to put the car in for some work on Monday including a recall on the ignition switch, so we had a rental for a few days. When we picked up the car and returned the rental we saw that we had just turned over 50, 000 miles! That afternoon we took advantage of early voting and short lines and cast our votes for President. We took Mom on Friday, and while I was disappointed in her choice, she was able to exercise her rights and for that I’m grateful.
The evenings have been nice and cool and we’ve had several fires in the pit. It’s so relaxing to sit out in the silence and just “be”.
The trees in town are starting to get really pretty. I hope we don’t have an early freeze like last year; the leaves all dropped way too soon. There are two cotton fields on our way into town and they are both in full bloom. I do so love living here!
