Kotor Montenegro
These pages are for our day in Kotor Montenegro during our Mediterranean cruise.
Left page of two. Here's the journaling:
"On October 3rd, we sailed into the Bay of Kotor on the Adriatic coast. Kotor Bay is the deepest natural fjord-like bay in the Mediterranean Sea, and the scenery around it (including the steep mountains which come almost straight down to the water’s edge) is spectacular. The port of Kotor was originally settled by the Romans but has been claimed by many over the years including the Venetian Republic, Ottoman Empire, Austrian Empire, and Yugoslavia. Finally in 2006 the newly formed independent country of Montenegro took over. The Venetians built Kotor’s impressive city walls and influenced most of its beautiful, well preserved, architecture. Old Kotor was built like a maze for protective purposes and it is very easy to get lost in its narrow streets and alleys, but our wonderful tour guide, Buruna, kept us on the right path. The old, enclosed city of Kotor is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is one of Europe’s best-kept examples of the medieval and renaissance eras."
Files are in the EXIF. Thanks for looking & Have a blessed day!
