Weekend Challenge 12/2/16 - "2016"

Took me a while but I did it and me who dislikes templates bought a few because it makes it a little easier and faster for me to try scrapping!

Journaling reads:

"2016… The first week of January I spent a lovely day with Auntie Sue; a week later she suffered a massive brain bleed. We all came together to support her and each other and a week later she died ... March birthdays brought 14-11-60... In April I traveled to AUSTRALIA to meet Jody and attend her wedding to Darren. Spending two weeks with them + Aidan and Callan was an experience of a lifetime... Walking the beach in Moonta I injured my foot - yes it was fractured so I spent the next (sometimes very hot) 10 1/2 weeks in a boot cast... In July I saw Dr. Ducey 18 months post car accident. An MRI Arthrogram and routine Mammo the same day resulted in: Rotator Cuff Tear and “Area of Architectural Distortion”. Tear was put on hold for a horrible two weeks of tests, biopsy and eventual appointment with Dr Elliot at the Breast Center. Another MRI was still inconclusive and the issue still TBD and rechecked in March… Dr Ducey decided to repair the tear et al. First I visited Judi - we made sauerbraten! Home a week Susan brought me for surgery which ended up extensive. PT started a week later even when not allowed to move my arm!... 2 ½ weeks post surgery I got 104º temp sick with pneumonia - yuck!... Black Friday and Retail Therapy resulted in a new iPad and a lot of letting go… December 23rd Physical Therapists celebrated the season and posed with me and “Game Ready” ice machine... PT is living up to its hard, long and painful reputation - AKA: torture. My standard line? “Not the most fun I’ve had”...

Christmas day brought our family all together again. We each brought our Christmas stockings Auntie Sue had made and took a photo in her honor. Extended family sent photos holding theirs; it was nice to know we were all remembering her..."

For this layout I used:

MRE DLO Template: Celebration

DDS Merry Christmas (2 papers)

BMU Brush Set Starburst

MRE Brush Set Drop Hearts

CRO Season's Letterings Word Art Mini

and my own photos.

Yup it has been a busy year for you. I agree I am starting to use templates more and more...they do make scrapping quicker. I love the stocking your Aunt Sadie made, I have an Aunt Sadie too but we don't have stocking...Great memories for all of you.

Here's to a Happy Healthy New Year!

Yes, but mine is an Auntie Sue, not Sadie! :D Her real name was "Assunta" which she really disliked. She sewed so many beautiful things we all have to remember her by.

Happy New Year!

The template worked great here! It gave your page lots of room for both photos and journaling and it all came together beautifully. I really like the sparkly background on your page --- It adds interest and texture without taking over the page. Great layout! And, isn't that ME on the right with the white stocking? :D

Here's to a better year for you health-wise! Keep thinking those positive thoughts!!

Yep, that's Diane in the front with her stocking! So glad we are family AND SG friends. I always say it was Diane who's responsible for introducing and getting me to ScrapGIrls!

I'm glad we were able to share the Holiday together as always. xo
